Inexpensive Parts not Immune to Counterfeiting

This part is an inexpensive $.10 diode.  One might think that it would be too much trouble to sand down the tops of the parts, fix the leads and remark them, but it is common.  We have even seen it done on less expensive parts.  In the picture you can see the part before and after it has been wiped with acetone.
