Avago Technologies traces its heritage to Hewlett-Packard's semiconductor division, spun off in 2005 to become what was then the largest privately held independent semiconductor company in the world. Avago built its reputation on RF, optoelectronic, and industrial components, including FBAR filters and RF amplifiers for wireless systems, optical transceivers for telecom and data centers, and optocouplers, LEDs, and motion-control encoders for industrial applications.
