Founded in 1957 in Santa Clara, California, Fairchild was among the earliest firms to successfully manufacture transistors and integrated circuits. Fairchild Semiconductor’s first products were silicon-based transistors for military and later industrial applications. In 1968 Fairchild Semiconductor employees began starting dozens of new electronics companies, including Intel Corporation, National Semiconductor Corporation, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., and LSI Logic Corporation. Although they were acquired by onsemi in 2016, AERI is still able to find and retrieve their parts.
